‘Worst floods in a generation’ sweep Mozambique | BBC News

There have been rescue efforts for tens of thousands of people in Mozambique as rising waters have continued to devastate the southern African nation – the worst flooding in a generation.

Teams from Brazil, South Africa and the UK have been helping with life-saving rescue operations.

Almost 700,000 people have been affected since 7 January by flooding – particularly in southern and central regions, with more than 100 deaths and others are still missing.

  1. Its imperative that the current government of Mozambique summon all the resources at it's disposal to aid the affected. The international community should come to the aid of this great land of Samora Machel, our very own hero.
